AbstractA method of structural testing using wind and micro-tremor induced vibrations is outlined for a twenty-two story steel frame building. The results for the translational and torsional frequencies agree well with the independent determinations of the frequencies and modes obtained from vibration generator resonance tests of the same building. It is concluded that the method of structural testing based on the ambient induced vibrations can give good estimates of the frequencies and modes of vibration of building structures.
